Here’s the how, taken from a blog post by Antonia Designs. Working with Antonia was pure delight! I met her at her downtown DC condo and sipped coffee while she listened to me ramble about birds and colors, students and yoga, teachers and family and friends, places, jokes, pets and fancies.
I designed a logo for a yoga studio. The client came to our get-together will a bag full of visual goodies – some remarkably varied postcards of art she liked, a book of poetry she’d written and even a scarf. We spent some time chatting and I got to know her vibe.
She had lots of ideas and inspiration. She likes nature and confluence and wanted a bird – probably an owl – and she also wanted to be able to use the image in the logo separately. This was all excellent information and gave me a lot to work with as I created the logo.I had a lot of wonderful inspiration to go on with my yoga studio client. In the end we did go with with an owl design, achieving a look that was powerful but inviting. The yoga studio is in Harper’s Ferry and the client wanted a rustic feel. We worked with different layouts, including a playful typeface.
Within a few weeks, Antonia had shaped my ideas into the simple, joyful owl.
And there she flies!
